SkyGuide's ASCOM (Astronomy Common Object Model) support
SkyGuide (2.10.000 or later) is compliant with the ASCOM (Astronomy Common Object Model) standard. Specifically, SkyGuide is fully compliant with the ASCOM Telescope Interface Standard version 1.0. This standard has been revised to version 2.0 which SkyGuide does not support however ASCOM provides backwards compatibility to older versions. We recommend that any users interested in ASCOM capability upgrade to Maestro and "smart" SkyWalker.
Complete details on the mapping of the ASCOM Telescope Interface Standard version 1.0 into SkyGuide system functionality are available as a PDF file.
Complete details on the ASCOM standard are available at ascom-standards.org.
The latest version of SkyGuide is available from our software upgrades web page.
SkyGuide's ASCOM support is provided by two files: SkyGuide.dll and WARP.dll. SkyGuide.dll is an ASCOM-compliant telescope driver that exposes SkyGuide's features to ASCOM clients. SkyGuide.dll does not interface directly to SkyGuide but rather through WARP.dll. WARP.dll implements SkyGuide's Windows Astronomical Resource Protocol interface. Complete details on WARP are available here.
